Having been established on October the 24th , 1983, the Association has drawn protocols of Cooperation with  the Social Security Institute, Institute of Employment and Professional Training and Lisbon’s Town Council.

On May 2003, it has been acknowledged as an Institution of Superior Social Interest, by a joint ministerial dispatch of Ministério do Trabalho e Segurança Social (nr.616) and Ministério das Finanças (nr.119, 2003/05/23 )

Having won this new attribute, the Institution has been addressing the Civil Society more and more – private companies as well as private citizens - so that, in full conscience of their social responsibility, they will take part in the fulfilment of this mission:

"To promote the welfare and quality of life of people with disabilities."
